What I Would Pack During a Flood

Hey! Over the summer, we read the book Finding Someplace for our LA class. In the book, Reesie has to pack up a small amount of her belongings in a hurry. We imagined what it would be like if we had to do that too.

This is what I would pack during a flood. I made a drawing earlier, so I didn’t have to type it out.

The White Rhino

Yam was a white rhino. He was very content with his life in captivity. He lived in the S.T.A. Animal Research Center. He loved to watch the squirrels that ran on the fence every now and then. He’d named them a while back. There was Sheryl, Brian, Jessica, and Dylan. He would try to share his food with the squirrels, but they always ran away.

One day, Yam felt sick. He could barely breathe, and his entire body was aching. He struggled to breathe, and he passed during the night.

THE END.

Camp Hanes Trip

Earlier this year, I went on a field trip to Camp Hanes. Today, I am gong to share my experience.

From the 29th of September to the 30th. The activities my group did in order was:

1st day: Hiking, archery, and then the climbing wall.
2nd day: We just chilled until it was time to leave.

We only got to do one activity on day 2, the reasoning being bad weather. It was supposed to be canoeing, but again, bad weather.

Food:

The food was good. we got there around 11:00, so we headed straight to lunch and had fried chicken and mac ‘n cheese. I usually don’t like chicken, but the chicken there was really good. So was the mac ‘n cheese. For dinner that day, we had salad, green beans, and spaghetti. For breakfast the next morning, we had eggs, bacon, and biscuits. They also had a little area with cereal. Poptarts, granola bars, etc. We did one more activity, then left. They sent us sandwiches to go, which we ate when we got back to school.

Employees:

I don’t remember any of their names, but all the counselors were really nice and caring. I especially liked Sarah (I think that was her name.). She was very helpful on the hike and I enjoyed talking to her.
